POKER HAND HISTORY

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Like anything else worthwhile, improving your poker game takes practice. Simply put, the more you play, the better you’re likely to get. That said, playing poker without analyzing why some hands and maneuvers work better than others will only take you so far.

If you really want to take your game to next level, it is important to analyze your play day-by-day, which is why we’ve introduced our new Hand History feature.

This great tool automatically tracks each hand you play and stores the information in a file on your hard drive so that you can review it whenever you want. To get started, just follow these easy instructions:

  • Click on Options in the menu bar at the top of the lobby screen
  • Click on Hand History at the bottom of the pull-down menu

Options menu - hand history

  • Check the Save My Hand Histories box and select the number of days you want to keep your hand histories for – you can also change the file where you store the hand histories on your computer by clicking the Change Folder button
  • Click OK

Hand History Configuration

Once you finish a poker session, you can access your hand histories by doing the following:

  • Right click on the Start button on the bottom left of your computer screen
  • Click on Explore
  • Open the Hand History folder – this is the folder you specified in the Hand History Configuration menu and, for most people, it will be C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\HandHistory\
  • Locate and open the folder labeled with your username – hand history folders will be created for each individual Full Tilt Poker player who uses your computer
  • Locate the table and date you want to view, and double click the file to open it

Explorer

Make good use of your hand histories and your future at the poker tables will be much brighter.

Earning Points

Start earning Full Tilt Points by playing in any qualifying raked real-money hand in a ring game or a real-money Multi-Table Tournament or Sit & Go with a tournament fee:

  • Ring Games: For each dollar raked from a pot, every player who was dealt cards for that hand will receive 1 Full Tilt Point. For example, if $2.00 in rake is taken from a pot, each player who was dealt cards will receive 2 points. Fractional points are also awarded; if $2.25 in rake is taken, players will receive 2.25 points. A maximum of 3 points can be earned per hand.
  • Tournaments: For every dollar paid in Multi-Table Tournament or Sit & Go fees, you’ll receive 7 Full Tilt Points. There is no limit to the number of points you can earn per tournament. For example, if you play in a tournament with a $10 buy-in and a $1 tournament fee, you’ll receive 7 points; if you play in a tournament with a $200 buy-in and a $16 tournament fee, you’ll receive 112 points.
